Axis & Rise ("Axis & Rise," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through axisandrise.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors and prospective clients who interact with this website — it does not apply to government records data we process on behalf of a client, which is covered separately (see Records Handled Under Client Engagements below).

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways:

Information you provide directly

When you submit our contact form, subscribe to our blog, or otherwise reach out to us, we collect what you choose to provide — for example your name, email address, phone number, job title, organization, county, current records system, and any details you share about your project. Please do not submit Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or other sensitive personal information through our website forms.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referring URLs — through cookies and similar technologies. See Cookies and Tracking Technologies below.

2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve this Site:

  • Essential cookies — required for the Site's basic functionality, such as submitting our contact form. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the Site (for example, via Netlify Analytics or Google Analytics), so we can improve it.

We do not use advertising or third-party marketing cookies on this Site.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiry — including scheduling a call and preparing a quote or proposal.
  • Operate and improve the Site — including monitoring performance and fixing issues.
  • Deliver our services — if you become a client, to communicate about and carry out an engagement.
  • Send occasional updates — such as blog posts, if you've subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Comply with the law — including responding to lawful requests from public authorities.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — vendors who help us run the Site and our business, such as our form and hosting provider (Netlify) and, where you've asked us to follow up through a workflow tool (for example Zapier and Google Sheets), the tools used to route your inquiry to our team. These providers may only use your information to perform services for us.
  • Legal and safety reasons — if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Axis & Rise or others.
  • Business transfers — if Axis & Rise is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Your Choices Regarding Cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. If you use Google Analytics, you can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the Site function, including our contact form.

6. Your Choices Regarding Your Information

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@axisandrise.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request its deletion; we do not sell personal information, so there is no sale to opt out of.

7. Records Handled Under Client Engagements

This Policy covers information collected through this website only. It does not cover government records, documents, or data that Axis & Rise processes, cleans, classifies, or migrates on behalf of a client as part of a records digitization or modernization engagement. That work — including how records are transferred securely, stored, retained, and handled — is governed by the signed service agreement (and, where applicable, a data processing or confidentiality agreement) between Axis & Rise and that client, not by this Policy.

8. Children's Privacy

This Site is intended for a business and government audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
